Rabbi Ron-Ami Meyers assumed the position as Rabbi of Ezra Bessaroth in August 2011. He came to the position with 22 years of experience in Jewish education and outreach, during which time he has gained the reputation as a warm and enthusiastic ambassador for Jewish learning and living.
Rabbi Meyers holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Winnipeg and following studies at Yeshivat Hamivtar, Yeshiva Univeristy and Knesset Bet Eliezer, was ordained by Jerusalem Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Kolitz and Dayan Avraham Kopshitz in 1989. A graduate of Yeshivat Shalavim’s Educational and Rabbinic Training Program, Rabbi Meyers is also a member of the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA). This past winter, he was invited to join the Yarchei kallah Program for Pulpit Rabbis sponsored by Yeshiva University’s Center for the Jewish Future.
The rabbi and his wife Miriam returned to the United States after 17 exhilerating years in Israel, where they raised their children, and where he both studied and taught. At Darche Noam Institutions, where he was on staff for a total of nine years, Rabbi Meyers developed a love of modern digital and computerized Torah, which he continues to incorporate into his educational repertoire.
Since arriving in Seattle, Rabbi Meyers joined the staff of the Seattle Hebrew Academy, where his love of children, Israel and the Hebrew language fueled SHA’s adoption of the Tal-Am Judaic Hebrew curriculum. He is also one of the pioneers of live, online Jewish education through Webyeshiva.org and its affiliate - TorahTutors.
Rabbi Ron-Ami and Miriam have quickly integrated themselves into the warm and welcoming EB community and look forward to many years of service on behalf of the Kahal.
