Spanish & Portuguese Citizenship Program
In 2015, the Spanish and Portuguese governments allowed (for a limited time) for Jews descended from Jewish families from the Iberian peninsula to reclaim their ancestral roots through formal citizenship.
Congregation Ezra Bessaroth is listed as an "endorsed entity" on the FCJE (Federación de Comunidades Judías de España) website, for issuance of certificates/letters in support of an applicant's request for citizenship based on Sephardic Jewish ancestry.
